NEW YORK – Public Advocate Bill de Blasio today released the attached report entitled The Danger Of The Supreme Court’s Citizens United Decision to Our Democracy: Looking Back to Predict What Lies Ahead and the following statement.

“If the past is any indication of the future, then corporate political spending will likely move from aggressive to excessive. Investors are facing a new reality where corporations can take millions of dollars directly from their company treasuries and spend them in elections with no limits. We need to rally shareholders nationwide to demand that all corporations put their investors’ interests ahead of political interests.”
